The word on the course.
How golfers talk about it, summarized from public reviews. Their opinions, not our scoring.
Across this 27-hole club, golfers describe a traditional, tree-lined layout that rewards accuracy over power, with the easier Indian nine and the tougher, hillier Mountain nine that holds the club’s signature short par-4 island green. The deep history (the old Cochran Ranch, played by Eisenhower and Kennedy) is a recurring draw.
Consistently praised
- The standout short par-4 island green on the Mountain nine, plus its long, scenic par 4.
- A throwback, tree-lined feel unusual for the desert, with real golf history.
Worth knowing
- Punishing rough and narrow corridors; miss the short grass and recovery is a chore.
Golfers recommend
- This 27-hole club plays as three nines; the Indian/Mountain combo runs easy-to-hard.
- Favor placement off the tee over distance, especially on the Mountain nine.
