Privacy policy.
The short version: Linksmith has no accounts, sets no cookies, and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send through the contact form, and we use it only to reply.
Information we collect
Browsing the site requires nothing from you: no sign-up and no login. The one place we collect personal information is the contact form, where you provide your name, email, and message so we can read and answer it. Messages are delivered to our inbox through our email provider, Resend; we do not store them beyond our email, and we never use them for anything other than replying to you.
The recommender
When you use Find Your Course, the inputs you set (handicap, driver carry, and priorities) stay in your browser to compute your results. They are not sent to us, stored, or associated with you in any way.
Server logs and hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like essentially every website, the host processes standard technical request information (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) to deliver pages and keep the service secure and reliable. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
Maps and third parties
Course and destination maps load satellite imagery from Esri. When a map loads in your browser, your device requests image tiles directly from Esri, so they receive your IP address as a normal part of serving those tiles, under their own privacy terms. Weather data is fetched by our servers, not your browser, so weather providers do not see your IP.
Cookies and analytics
We do not set cookies and we do not currently run any analytics or tracking. If that ever changes (for example, privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics), we will update this page and say exactly what we use.
Children
Linksmith is a general-audience golf site and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
As Linksmith grows (for example, if we add tee-time or booking links), this policy may change. We will revise the date above when it does.
