The short version: Linksmith is free, informational golf intelligence built from public data. It can be wrong, so confirm the details that matter with the course before you travel or play.

Acceptance

By using Linksmith, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Linksmith is

Linksmith is an independent, informational service that maps, measures, and ranks golf courses from public data. It is a planning tool, not a booking service, and it is not professional, financial, or travel advice.

Accuracy and no warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Our figures are computed from third-party sources (course scorecards, OpenStreetMap, satellite imagery, and weather forecasts) that can be incomplete or out of date. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of anything on the site.

Verify before you play

Details that affect your round or your trip, such as green fees, tee-time availability, public or private access, dress code, and current course conditions, change often and are not something we control. Always confirm them directly with the course before you travel or play.

Data and attribution

Linksmith builds on open data that remains the property of its sources, including OpenStreetMap contributors (under the Open Database License), Esri and its imagery providers, Open-Meteo, and the course scorecard data we license. Linksmith’s own analysis, scores, writing, and compilation are ours.

Acceptable use

Use Linksmith for your own golf planning. Do not scrape, bulk-download, resell, or republish the site’s content, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or use it unlawfully.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Linksmith is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, including decisions made about where to travel or play.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
